This is the Construction Zone for the front-porch (root-section) level of the nfoTools site.
Every folder in this site is bolted into the
construction structure. The construction structure is always
enterable via the
index.htm page that every
folder possesses, no matter what other default pages are present. Each
index.htm page provides an anchor point
for any other scaffolding in the section. The index page also serves
as the default page of the section during early construction and sometime
for a long time after that.
The construction structure is never removed. It
becomes covered over by the placement of content and any facade page (e.g.,
index.html) that provides a
friendlier public entry
to the folder. The construction structure remains as foundation.
The construction structure of the site is also a way to
situate and anchor all of the content. The top-right corner of
every ordinary page presents the directory hierarchy that the page is
situated in. It is a way to navigate to the containing section and its
superiors. The construction structure and the content structure are
congruent in this regard–they share the same folder hierarchy. It is
useful to think of the construction structure as the skeleton on which the
content is supported.
Access to the construction structure is always available.
The "Hard Hat" image in the lower-left corner of non-index pages
provides a link to the construction structure under which the current
page is situated. These links are to the
index.htm page in the same folder.
The construction structure locates applicable
construction zones. The "Hard Hat" image in an
index.htm page is used to link to the nearest construction zone.
This will be in the same or a superior section. Each construction zone
provides a local job jar of "work orders" and construction items.
There may be additional materials that are specific to the construction of
the given section and its subordinate folders.
Chaining of construction zones. A construction
zone page, such as this one, always provides a table for reaching the
construction zones in its vicinity: the construction zone that is
immediately superior to this one and those other construction zones for
which the present one is the immediate superior. Every table also
provides a link to the Construction Materials section and any other
resources.
The current construction zone applies to the construction of all pages in the "root" or front-porch of nfoTools. This construction zone is reachable from all construction zones in subordinate folders. There are no superior construction zones (even though nfoTools is published to a folder of orcmid.github.io).
For further information on the construction approach and the practices for achieving consistent construction of nfoTools, go to the Construction Material section.
