• NOTE: To describe this level of page faithfully, even though it is technically a construction-material page, it is formatted as a construction structure page.
    

• This page describes the construction structure of the site, including how index.htm are used in every section.   

• The nature of the construction block at the bottom of every page is explained.

• The nature of the grounding and version block in the upper right-hand corner is explained

• The way the construction structures are linked together and to the construction section of an anchored mirror is explained

• Minimal accommodation of cloaking in the construction section is also specified.

• For the construction section itself, and structures superior to the mirrored site, there will be separate explanations. 

Every section (mini-Web) of orcmid.github.io has an index.htm Construction Structure page.  These pages accomplish three things:

• ensure that any automtic index of every web-site directory is suppressed and the only access to material of the site is via navigation or use of a known, published URL
• provide a default page for entry to areas when an index.html page is missing during site construction and updates.
• tie into the construction structure for the site and also any site over which orcmid.github.io is the anchor.

Cloning construction structure.  The best way to clone construction structure pages in new sections is by copying and pasting (most easily, one at the same level) an existing index.htm page.

The minimal construction structure of a section consists of the index.htm page.  

The next level of construction structure consists of a Construction Zone, including a job jar (c000000.htm) and construction.htm page.  Once there is construction material, there must be a construction.htm page.

In addition to providing descriptive information and documentation, the master version of this page is also a template for construction-structure pages of this site.  The template features depend on the use of Microsoft FrontPage for the development and maintenance of this material, and are only fully available when these web pages are accessed using Microsoft FrontPage.  

Informal Template Usage

1. This page can be used as a boilerplate for a full page based on the default style for construction-structure pages of this site.  In Microsoft Front Page, make a copy of the page and then derive the new page by transformational editing:

   • Use File / Properties ... to change the title of the page

   • Change the title in the middle table block at the top of the page.

   • Change the "grounding block" in the right section of the table to provide the full context of the present page and any version number and time stamp.

   • Keep the Hard Hat area image inclusion in the lower-left corner, delete it, or replace it as appropriate, depending on where the construction-structure material is situated.

   • Keep the "You are ..." text in the middle block, supplement it, or replace it as appropriate.

   • Update the creation information in the right section of the page bottom banner.  After the first check-in of the page under source control, use the check-in date as the new creation date.

   • Delete this text section and the box at the top of the page, replacing it with your own page content.

   • Introduce your own version history annotations, if desired.  Make sure the links in the history are as you want them to be.

2. The title block -- the table at page top -- can be copied by itself to produce a title block with the correct styles and the automatic inclusion of the correct left-section image for this site.

3. The construction block -- the table at page bottom -- can be copied by itself to produce a construction block with the correct styles,  the automatic inclusion of the left-side Hard Hat image and link, and the "you are navigating ..." information in the center section of the block.  The right-side material will be updated automatically by Microsoft Visual Source Safe, but the "created ..." line must be updated manually.
